Crowdvote

Efficient, collaborative decision making

  • Vote for your choice among a series of options
Example: choose a date for a party, volunteer to staff an event
  • All members can add/edit/delete options
  • Dynamic summary fields indicate the current “winners”
  • Post Comments to each other in the news feed

Why it’s “Meshy”
The underpinnings of CrowdVote are very similar to MeshLists – each instance has two Feeds: one that contains the available options (which are all boolean columns), and a second that contains all of the rows of the table (which in this case are the members of the Mesh object and their respective votes). When a new member accepts an invitation to the instance and launches the application for the first time, a new item inside the rows Feed is created, with default values for each column set to false. As changes are picked up from the CrowdVote client UI, they are written to the Mesh, which then does the dirty work of sending the data up to the cloud.
